China praises Modi, but would stop Indiafrom entering NSG
BEIJING: China on Monday revealed two sidesof its realpolitik game in the region three days before India and Pakistan aredue to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. There is a possibility of ameeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Ji n pi ngduring the SCO membership ceremony at Asthana on June 8.
Chinese foreign ministry praised the Prime Minister for a recent comment onIndia-China relations. At the same time, Beijing sent out a clear signal thatit would continue to block India's entry into the Nuclear Suppliers' Group, andnever budge from its blatantly pro-Pakistan on the issue of terrorism.
"We have noted the positive remark made by Indian Prime Minister byNarendra Modi about the China-India relation.We welcome that," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.She was referring to Modi's statement that whatever the nature of boundarydispute, not a single bullet has been fired by either side in the past 40 years.
